IELTS Vocabulary List – 2 Map directions for listening

There is a Map directions question in Cambridge IELTS book 11. Let’s have a look at the words / phrases used to give directions on the map:

  • to your right
  • on your left
  • in the corner
  • beside
  • ahead of you
  • opposite
  • the path that branches off to the right
  • go towards
  • turn right just before it
  • walk along
  • on the first bend
  • take the side path
  • where the path bends
  • near
  • just after
  • cross the bridge
  • walk through the field
