Q. How long have you lived in this city?
A. I have been living for almost 4 years here.
Q. Do you like your hometown?
A. Yes, I do. I love Vancouver because it is not only a cosmopolitan city, but a city with lots of picturesque scenes.
Q. What is your hometown famous for?
A. It is a popular city due to having a convenient environment and fantastic landscape of ocean and woods.
Q. Why do some people collect something, like stamps or coins?
A. One important reason behind it is that they like history. These items show us our history and even culture. Individuals collect them to revive their past.

PART 3 (Discussion)
We’ve been talking about … , and I’d now like to ask you some questions related to this.
Q. How do you think some business companies become successful?
A. From my point of view, one important factor is having studious and continuous working. Although they might face numerous challenges and have many rivals, they do not lose their hope, surpassing their rivals. Having talented people and visionary managers and administrative personnel are important as well.
Q. What companies are successful in your hometown? Are they small or big?
A. Mostly food ones are more prosperous than the other ones and many of them are huge corporations with multitude branches. Other types of companies that are successful fall under the IT business and Oil Company.
Q. Why are some companies more successful than others?
A. These companies are mostly supported by the government, and even many officials are their major shareholders. As I said before, they have more tolerance to resist against difficult situations. They can find better solutions for their problems than the other ones. Successful companies are backed by talented people, prudent administration, huge money and a bit of luck.
Q. Is it easier to work as an employee or to manage a company? Why?
A. I think working as a simple staff is far simpler. They do not have any concern about bankruptcy or loosing of market share and money. A simple employee only follows the rules and works, although he or she has less income than a business person. In terms of easy life style doing job in a reputed and high paying organization is far better in my opinion. Running a successful business requires hard work, huge capital and vision. Not all people have these qualities.
Thank you. That’s the end of the IELTS Speaking Test.
